View Policy Documents: Provides access to different types of continuously updated resources such as model and template policy language.
Four types of documents can be located under Policy Documents: National Template, State Supplements, Policy Checklists, and State Guides.
National Template: Includes your traditional policies such as EEO and Harassment.
- At this time, California and the National template have been combined for ease of use.
State Supplements: Includes policies that carefully track state and locality-specific distinctions from those general, national policies.
- Purposely provided in Word to save or copy and paste sample language.
- Turn on comments to review notes to employers from Littler’s Knowledge Management Team.
National and State Policy Checklists: Provides popular topics and indicates if it is required to be covered in the handbook.
- Cross-reference this with the national template and state supplement to determine what policies are best suited to include for your organization's needs
State Guides: Current comprehensive summaries of the labor and employment law in each state. Each guide walks through the life cycle of employment - from pre-hire to termination - summarizing the federal, state, and in many cases local law on a number of different subjects.
- A table of contents is available with topic page links.
- Cntl + F is a great way to search state guides.
Each document is labeled with Type, National or State, and Last Date of update.
On the right-hand rail, filters are also provided to narrow down the Jurisdiction, type of document, and options for sorting in alphabetical order or by most recent updates.
Some states may also have Temporary COVID-19 documents.
