PolicySmart™ is designed to rescue employers from the staggering volume of legal and regulatory changes, with our aim being to save you time as you search for the critical information.

PolicySmart™ is a great resource for accessing up-to-date handbook templates for your jurisdiction. You can use the templates in PolicySmart as a starting point and then edit them to fit your organization’s specific details and voice and tone. But, you may be wondering, what happens when it’s time to update my edited version of the handbook? Do I really have to go through the entire editing process from beginning to end again? Following the steps outlined in this blog post: Make Reviewing and Updating Your Handbook Easier, can help streamline your review and update process.

PolicySmart CardUse Policy Documents to create your working handbook. Documents are provided in Word, helping organizations save time as you create your handbooks. 

Is your organization located in multiple states? Each state should have its own unique supplement.

Comparing the available state Checklist to the State Supplements will help determine which policies are required in your handbook vs. additional policies included to meet an organization's needs.


To maintain your working handbooks, use Policy News to review policies coming in the future and access sample policy language to copy/paste into your existing handbook. 

For Platform Administrator(s): To select the jurisdictions that display within the PolicySmart™ tool for your organization, creating a user-friendly experience, select Configure Jurisdictions. Next, select your jurisdictions and click Save Changes.
